Contraindications for Keratin treatment procedure

If the client plans to undergo bleaching or coloring that requires lightening the entire hair coverage, it is recommended to do this prior to keratin straightening. After that, you can proceed with the procedure immediately without waiting for 2 weeks, even on the same day. In the case of lightening, the sequence is as follows: lightening – keratin straightening – toning. However, if the procedure has already been performed, further lightening is recommended to be postponed for at least 5 weeks to allow the polymer film to set and the lightening agents to penetrate the hair. If the client plans not for lightening but for simple coloring with up to 6% oxidant or toning, it is better to do this immediately after the procedure, possibly even on the same day. In case coloring has been recently done and the client is planning the procedure, it is important to warn them that keratin straightening may slightly wash out the color. Therefore, it is recommended to perform such types of coloring after the procedure.
